7 reasons to come to our Opening Week

This September, Bozar invites you to participate in a ten-day cultural feast encompassing different disciplines and offering a fascinating preview of the bold programming celebrating the power and love of artistic relationships. In all modesty, our Opening Week initiative represents the ultimate cultural extravaganza. Here’s why.

*Découvrez le très riche programme de l’Opening Week de Bozar ici.

  1. For love

What wouldn’t you do for love? In our increasingly divided era, Bozar wants to highlight the unifying power of love. After all, isn’t love stronger than everything else? It comes in many forms – emotional, cultural, and political – and feeds artistic and intellectual expression. These relationships form the basis of memorable experiences. Join us at Opening Week to explore the many facets of love.

  2. To meet extraordinary minds

Have you ever played the celeb dinner date game? Who would be your ideal guest? During Opening Week, you’ll have the chance to meet acclaimed filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul, engage in a spirited conversation with literary elites Didier Eribon, Geoffroy de Lagasnerie, and Édouard Louis, or debate with renowned architects Robbrecht en Daem architecten and Ensamble Studio. It’ll be like having a dinner date with extraordinary minds, minus the washing-up.

3.    For the surprise factor

Picture a concert masterminded by architects, where visual arts and music interact in an exceptional dialogue. Explore the unlikely fusion of Boogie-woogie and Bach magnificently interpreted by a world-class orchestra. Immerse your mind in an unsettling journey in a virtual reality film plunging you into the deep recesses of dreams and memories. At Bozar, the arts often transcend traditional frameworks and offer breathtaking and awe-inspiring moments. Allow yourself to be surprised.

4.    For fun

While our Opening Week is the ultimate artistic celebration, two special night-time events perfectly incarnate this celebratory spirit. During the Bozar All Over the P(a)lace – Nocturne Arp, audience and artists are brought together for concerts, performances, films, DJ sets, and exhibitions. On our Club Night, wander around and listen to Space Afrika and corto.alto, vibrate to Alfa Mist in the seatless Salle Henry Le Bœuf or relax with Ruth Goller and Klara Lewis as you curl up in the cushions of Hall Horta.

5.    To feel free on our Rooftop

Bozar’s Rooftop is the perfect spot to escape the whirlwind of artistic events scheduled over ten days. Once up there, enjoy the perfect mix of music, open-air cinema, peace and fun.

6.    For a fun family day out

Bozar will mark Car Free Sunday in style with a fun day out for families and kids! Start the day on the rooftop with the HOP FROG brass band and get moving in an explosion of trumpets and laughter. Design a dazzling costume at the Oiseaux Sans Têtes (O.S.T.) workshop and then parade around at the Dada Disco, where Dadaist short films will be played to the sound of live music. And don’t forget to visit the new Hans/Jean Arp & Sophie Taeuber-Arp exhibition!

Drop everything and immerse yourself in Homayoun Shajarians poignant universe. The voice of this celebrated Iranian singer oozes with emotion, drawing you into the world of Persian poetry and contemporary sounds. Time fades away and beauty rises throughout this musical experience. Still having doubts? come on then, and just try to hold back the tears...
