‘A lighthouse for Lampedusa’

As part of World Refugee Day, BOZAR, the Goethe-Institut Brüssel, the European Cultural Foundation and the Italian Cultural Institute are putting on the A Lighthouse for Lampedusa exhibition between 19 June and 8 September. For the occasion, the German artist Thomas Kilpper will build a lighthouse on the roof of BOZAR. On 20 June, Ancienne Belgique will play host to the concert “Artists #withRefugees”, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra and a big band made up of Syrian refugees. On 21 June, the Italian Cultural Institute will be screening Gianfranco Rosi's Fire at Sea about the influx of refugees in Lampedusa. From 17 June to 4 September, BOZAR will also be holding the exhibition The Citizen by the photographer Tobias Zieliony, demonstrating the real needs of the refugees.
