‘CUBALANDZ’

15 + 16
June'19

Contemporary Cuban Art : Music, Dance, Visual Arts

The festival dedicated to the best of contemporary Cuban culture. To convey such wealth, Cubalandz organises concerts, a dance show, an exhibition, films, DJ sets, and – new this year – a host of fun family activities!

BOZAR and Camarote, a non-profit organisation, are back with the third edition of Cubalandz, the festival dedicated to the best of contemporary Cuban culture. With its bubbling vitality, this culture is the product of constant dialogue between different co-existing traditions, which results in original creations. To convey such wealth, Cubalandz organises concerts, a dance show, an exhibition, films, DJ sets, and – new this year – a host of fun family activities!

We will welcome the fabulous dance and choreography duo Judith Sánchez Ruiz (Cuba) and Moya Michael (South Africa), the Alejandro Vargas Trio and its Afro-Cuban jazz, and Londoners Lokhi Terra and Dele Sosimi with their explosive “Cubafrobeat” project. The climax of the evening comes in the form of DJ Cami Layé Okún of the HAPE collective and his funky Afro-Cuban groove, followed by the frenetic beats of DJ SebCat of the Rebel Up! collective. To top it off, the video artist Maria Ilia will be present with her astonishing video mapping. In addition, delicious dishes concocted by Shago de Cuba will be on offer for lovers of fine food. All the ingredients for a change of scenery: one day to immerse yourself in the soothing and sunny world of Afro-Cuban culture.

It's our treat! Listen to BOZAR’s "Cubalandz" playlist on Spotify for free and discover BOZAR MUSIC season ’18-’19.
