5 Reasons To Attend Concert Croissant

A blissfully tranquil and music-filled Sunday morning? It’s perfectly possible thanks to Concert Croissant, a new concert format from Bozar that will grace our main hall no less than fourteen times throughout the season. Which means there are plenty of opportunities to sample Concert Croissant. Here are five more reasons to win you over.

  1. Experience the concert alongside the musicians

Close, closer, closest. During a Concert Croissant, it’s not only the musicians who take their seats on the stage of the Henry Le Boeuf Hall, but also the audience. Young musicians from Belgium and abroad invite you onto the platform, quite literally, to share intimate moments of discovery and pleasure. They are eager to take advantage of the cosy setting to discuss their project, composition or instrument. Curious to see what the main hall looks like from this perspective?

  1. Discover the virtuosos of tomorrow

Discover the stars of tomorrow at Concert Croissant. Who will succeed Janine Jansen, Patricia Kopatchinskaja or Igor Levit? The Rising Stars programme from ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation) may have the answer. Alto violinist Sào Soulez Larivière, Quator Agate from France and Portuguese Carlos Ferreira, amongst others, are touring Europe’s largest concert halls during the 2024-25 season, including Bozar. We also have two concerts by the young soloists from the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, who will demonstrate that they’re on the cusp of their international careers.

  1. Be the first to hear new music

Our varied programmes are brimming with well-known names, such as Haydn, Debussy and Reich. But Concert Croissant is also making some surprising detours: think Sufi music, jazz fusion and contemporary works. Brand-new compositions by Julia Wolfe, Anna Korsun, Langqing Ding, Sally Beamish, Dani Howard and Patricia KopatchinskajaKlarafestival’s festival artist – are all in the line-up.

  1. Make a day of it at Bozar

The round of applause after a Concert Croissant doesn’t signal the end of your Sunday at Bozar – on the contrary. See it, instead, as the starting point of a culture-filled day out. Pop into one of our exhibitions. The large-scale Friends, Lovers, Partners, for example, celebrates the multitalented artist couple Hans/Jean Arp & Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Or let your children discover their artistic individuality during Family Sunday. And to really spoil you for choice, we also have a cinema programme. Why not (re)discover a film during your Sunday at Bozar?
