Bruno and Ferdinand had a fight after school. Ferdinand broke two of Bruno’s front teeth. The parents agree to meet at Bruno’s  apartment to solve the problem in a civilised fashion. It all starts out  in a polite, friendly, conciliatory manner , as they try to maintain the discussion in a spirit of understanding and apology but gradually the tone turns sour. Meet the characters: Alain Reille, an unscrupulous lawyer who is always on his mobile phone while striking a John Wayne pose towards the world at large, Veronique Houillé, a very conventional sort  of woman and writing a book about Darfur, her husband Michel who just dumped his daughter’s hamster in the gutter and Annette Reille who has started vomiting; chaos reigns, each against the other, a pitched battle, catastrophe seems inevitable….
Taking this humdrum event in the everyday life of characters in their forties, The God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza portrays the paradoxes of life with biting humour,  and with ferocity and tenderness as well: the egotism and generosity, the politeness and brutality, the futile and the important, the ridiculous nature of grandiloquent declarations which dissolve at the slightest obstacle.
The four superb actors – Cerasela Iosifescu, Luminiţa Erga, Alexandru Jitea şi Adrian Văncică - and the director Claudiu Goga invite you into this explosive and immensely funny impasse.
