Four days... with strings attached
The Kora Days are the first instalment of a new initiative by Bozar honouring an instrument during a series of consecutive concerts. For this first edition, which will take place from 13 to 16 April, Bozar joins forces with the greatest specialists in the field to turn the spotlight on the kora, an emblematic instrument from West Africa. One of the legends has it that the kora was the instrument of a female genius living in the caves of Missirikoro in Mali. Today, in company of leading players such as Bao Sissoko, Sona Jobarteh, Momi Maiga, Seckou Keita and Mbady Diabate, Bozar shows how far the kora has come without ever breaking the link with the ancient tradition of the Mandingo griots.
