Dvořák 9 & Elgar Violin Concerto

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra was the obvious choice to open the International Orchestras series! Under the energetic and sensitive direction of Daniel Harding, this legendary orchestra whisks you off to two contrasting worlds: Edward Elgar's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, with violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann, and Dvořák's Symphony No. 9. Elgar acknowledged that he had “enshrined his soul in the Violin Concerto”. Dvořák's New World Symphony is one of his most inspired and original works, and has become one of the most popular symphonies in the repertoire.
