‘The Sound of Bruegel’

What if you could make the master’s paintings sing? The organist Arnaud Van de Cauter bets he can do just that through two ambitious musical programmes based on Bruegel masterpieces, with the help of two vocal ensembles, Vox Luminis (13.09) and Utopia (28.09). The Fight between Carnival and Lent, The Tower of Babel, The Peasant Wedding, The Fall of the Rebel Angels and The Triumph of Death will be paired with works by Palestrina, Lassus, Thomas Crecquillon and many other early composers.
