‘Shamss Ensemble, Keykhosro Pournazeri, Homayoun Shajarian’

The Ensemble Shamss was founded by Kaykhosro Pournazeri who composed tanbûr music based on Rumi’s poetry. His children, real virtuosos of the instrument, will be joined by Homayoun Shajarian, worthy heir of Iranian classical song, and the son of Mohammad Reza Shajarian, an emblematic figure from the same discipline. So we are playing host to the renowned representatives of the new generation of Iranian musicians, and can be sure they will leave their mark on the Persian learned song repertoire.
