The film will be followed by a conversation with the directors.

Premiered as part of our Close-up devoted to Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine, The Sense of Tuning is a portrait of architect Bijoy Jain of Studio Mumbai. Far from being a hagiographic work providing a fixed image of the man and his work, the film explores - with rare spontaneity - the fragile and precious material of the architect's sensibility, highlighting the way in which his perception of the emotion of space is nourished. Conceived as a performative cinematic experience, this film captures the alchemy of a day's encounter between Bijoy Jain & Bêka and Lemoine - twelve hours of intense wandering, immersing us in the vital energy of the streets of Mumbai. The Sense of Tuning reveals the extent to which Bijoy Jain's work is closely linked to the city, providing him with infinite resources and inspiration.

For more than fifteen years, the artist-videographer, producer and editor duo Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine - aka Bêka & Lemoine - have been making their mark on the international architectural scene with a body of work renowned for its innovative nature and tender yet caustic humour.
