‘Quando l’uomo principale è una donna (video + art talk)’

13 July'17
- 20:00

Troubleyn / Jan Fabre

For the video projection of the dance solo Quando l’uomo principale è una donna (2005) Jan Fabre drew his inspiration from Yves Klein’s Anthropométries in which bodies glide through space like living paint brushes. You see how the dancer and choreographer Lisbeth Gruwez finds herself under a sky of bottles from which olive oil drips, gushes and spatters. The musical leitmotif is the popular Italian smash hit Volare by Dominic Modungo. The atmosphere is summery and Italian.
As she playfully hums a tune, the ever charming Lisbeth Gruwez combines technical ability, lightness and infinite dedication. She is Fabre’s unapproachable ‘warrior of beauty’.

The video projection will be followed by an art talk with Lisbeth Gruwez and Pieter T'Jonck.
