‘Premiere: Carol – Todd Haynes’

New York, the early fifties, Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara), a young shop assistant working at a Manhattan department store, meets an elegant customer, Carol (Kate Blanchett), a seductive woman locked in an unhappy marriage. The spark of their first meeting rapidly develops into deeper sentiments. The two women soon find themselves trapped between conventions and their mutual attraction.
