Schumann and peak Romanticism
Our partner the Orchestre National de Lille presents a programme devoted entirely to Schumann. The soloist in his Violin Concerto is the Dutch musician Isabelle van Keulen, known primarily for her commitment to contemporary music. When the young Schumann first turned his hand to composing a symphony, after making his name in the lieder genre, the result was his “Spring” Symphony.
