Christmas concert
Dirk Brossé leads the musicians of the National Orchestra in a Christmas concert which you can sing along to – although it’s not a requirement as the IMEP choir is there to set the tone – and singer Ibernice Macbean will also be lending a hand! The programme consists of a mix of melodies from diverse traditions, all of which are linked to Christmas. Classic hits (Hallelujah from Handel’s Messiah, Shostakovich’s Festive Overture) alternate with timeless Christmas songs (Silent Night, O Christmas Tree). But alongside this there are works from the Great American Songbook (White Christmas by Irving Berlin) or well-known tunes from the cinema (Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas from Home Alone 2, for example).
