‘Media (un)censored : women journalists in Turkey’

3 May'16
- 14:00

Freedom of the press in Turkey has become a major subject of concern, as demonstrated by the fact that the newspaper Zaman was recently placed under state supervision and the expulsion of foreign correspondents. This taking control of the public voice is not limited to the press but extends as far as the internet, where websites such as YouTube and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter are also censored. Guest speakers bear witness to this “voice robbed” by power, and more generally the situation facing the press in Turkey.
