‘Lecture by Patrick Bouchain’

6 June'18
- 19:00

New fields, new practices. For (a) better land uses

Who makes the city? Alongside the usual actors, on the side of the private or public sector, new entrants assert themselves. They multiply initiatives: new urban service, meeting place, shared space, participatory design, digital collaboration, recycling of materials, short cycles based approach, reintegration of nature in the city, etc.

Some professionals favour the creation of these new ways. This is the case of Patrick BOUCHAIN. Architect-urban planner, initiator of complex-system approaches, he will be our guest on Wednesday, June 6th at 19h, in the framework and in the introduction of the FORUM organized by FOR URBAN PASSION on Thursday.

Patrick BOUCHAIN will present the foundation of his approach, in particular an H.Q.H. (High human quality) architecture, as well as its innovative approach to re-interrogate demand. He will illustrate this with several of his projects. These include the redevelopment of the Chemin Vert district in Boulogne-sur-Mer; the expansion of the Beaulieu Shopping Center in Nantes, etc. And in the cultural field, La Ferme du Buisson in Seine-et-Marne, Le Lieu unique in Nantes, and La Condition publique in Roubaix.

Since 2009, his activity has been oriented towards the diffusion of these models, in particular to set up alternative ways for the production of habitat, through a project entitled "The Big Ensemble", under construction in several cities.
