‘HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2016’

13 Dec.'16
- 19:00

Stand up for someone's rights today

“On this Human Rights Day, let’s once again get involved in guaranteeing fundamental freedoms and protecting everybody’s human rights.”
Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the UNO

In 1950, the General Assembly of the United Nations declared that 10 December should be Human Rights Day. Sixty six years later, Human Rights Day is more relevant than ever before. As a cultural institution which has close links with social issues, BOZAR relays the debates and, on 13 December, it is putting on an evening entitled STAND UP FOR SOMEONE’S RIGHTS TODAY in partnership with the European Union, UNRIC and UN OHCHR, which will present different initiatives in favour of diversity and social cohesion.
On this day, let’s get involved in defending the rights of others in the same way we would defend our own, be it women, children, refugees, migrants, individuals affected by disability, members of the LGBT community, and anybody likely to suffer from discrimination or violence. You too, demonstrate your solidarity by coming along and getting involved.

The latest output of Qotob Project is the trio of Bassel Abou Fakher on cello, Jean-Baptiste Delneuville on piano and Piet Maris on accordion. The music is a blend between middle-eastern and western-classical music traditions. The trio is now recording its first album, entitled Entity.
