Outcomes of the Halaqat audiovisual residency in 2022

In 2021, 6 Filmmakers drawn from the Arab diaspora in Belgium were selected to take part in the Halaqat audiovisual residency programme, in cooperation with Atelier Graphoui, Cinemaximiliaan and Sound Image Culture - SIC. Over the course of 2022, the film-makers worked on their projects, got to know each other, and were supported by professionals from the sector. The evening’s programme includes a screening of their five works and Sophie Soukias’ documentary 3 Tales of Halaqat, which portrays three stories composed closely with the artists of several Halaqat residencies.

The filmmakers will be present for a short Q&A following the screening of their film. The programme includes a 45-minute break, from 7pm to 7.45pm. The audience will be invited to leave the room and will be welcomed back for the start of the second session at 7.45pm.
