A coproduction of the History Museum in the Braşov County and the Romanian Television Production House, "BRAŞOV 1987. TWO YEARS TOO EARLY" deals in the smallest detail with the 15th November 1987 rebellion - the first mass protest in the history of communist Romania.
According to the director Liviu Tofan, it is imperative that younger generations know the truth and understand the climate of those times:
“We don’t have an excellent track record when it comes to historical knowledge. One such example in our recent history is the 15th November 1987 uprising in Braşov, the first mass political protest in Romania’s communist history. In spite of its unique significance in the era, the event is almost unknown today. What happened in Timişoara in December 1989 was a re-editing of the Braşov uprising, but in a much more favourable context, thus allowing the protests to reach their goal.
In 1987, the regime did its best to hide from the public the fact that thousands of people in Braşov chanted « Down with Ceauşescu » and « Down with communism », taking by storm and looting the county and city headquarters of the communist party. We’re in a dire need of recovering our historical memory. That’s what we, the people behind the Festival of Film and History in Râşnov, believe. Thus, we decided to make this film: "BRAŞOV 1987. TWO YEARS TOO EARLY" - a documentary through which we can tell the younger generations what happened back then, a documentary to stand as evidence.”

FILM DOCUMENTAR
Filmul este urmat de o întâlnire-dezbatere a publicului cu regizorul Liviu Tofan și doi participanți la revolta din  1987.
Moment din istoria recentă a României a cărui cunoaștere este obligatorie… !
Coproducție a Muzeului Județean de Istorie Brașov și a Casei de Producție TVR, filmul „BRAȘOV 1987. DOI ANI PREA DEVREME” tratează în cele mai mici detalii manifestația din 15 noiembrie 1987 - primul protest de masă din istoria comunistă a României.
Potrivit regizorului Liviu Tofan, este obligatoriu pentru generațiile mai tinere să afle adevărul și să înțeleagă climatul acelor vremuri:
„Cunoașterea este un capitol la care stăm cam prost în general. În ceea ce privește istoria noastră recentă, revolta de la Brașov este cel mai bun exemplu: de o semnificație unică în epocă – manifestația din 15 noiembrie 1987 a fost primul protest politic de masă din istoria comunistă a României -, evenimentul este aproape necunoscut. Timișoara în decembrie 1989 a fost o reeditare a revoltei de la Brașov, dar într-un context mult mai propice, care i-a permis să-și atingă scopul. În 1987, regimul a făcut tot posibilul să nu se afle că mii de brașoveni au scandat « Jos Ceaușescu » și « Jos comunismul », au luat cu asalt sediile partidului comunist (județean și municipal) și le-au devastat într-o explozie de mânie și resentiment. Nevoia recuperării memoriei este acută. Așa considerăm noi, autorii Festivalului de Film și Istorii de la Râșnov. Și am hotărât să facem un film: « BRAȘOV 1987. DOI ANI PREA DEVREME ». Un documentar prin care să le povestim tinerilor de azi ce s-a întâmplat atunci, și care să rămână ca o dovadă.”
