‘Elisabeth Leonskaja replaces Radu Lupu’

For health reasons Radu Lupu has been forced to cancel his remaining concerts of the season. He is at this time unable to commit to an alternative date, this season or the next. In fact he has decided to go on a sabbatical until June 2020. This means unfortunately he will not be performing at BOZAR on May 1st. His longtime friend Elisabeth Leonskaja – they have known each other since 1964 – has agreed to replace him for this concert and to keep part of the programme.
Elisabeth Leonskaja has been performing at the Centre for Fine Arts for almost as long as she has been friends with Radu Lupu, be it as a finalist of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 1968 or as the subject of a ‘portrait’ during the 2015-2016 season. We are extremely grateful to her for this act of friendship in replacing Radu Lupu for this concert.
