‘Dianne Reeves & the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra’

23 Apr.'17
- 20:30

Dianne Reeves is the great American jazz diva. "She has one of the most powerful, pure and intense voices of our time and in fact of all time," said Wynton Marsalis. Her timbre, her inimitable vibrato and her talent at improvisation have earned her no fewer than five Grammys and an honorary doctorate of music from the Juillard School in New York. Invited to sing with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, she and her regular backing band will be performing a splendid gala concert on the borders of jazz and pop. She will be singing the hypnotic" Stormy Weather" and her inspired version of Bob Marley's "Wait In Vain", two numbers that feature on her latest album Beautiful Life, Grammy winner for "Best Jazz Vocal Album" of 2015. Also on the programme are the Gershwin classic "Embraceable You" and "Lullaby of the Birdland", a jazz standard immortalized by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and, of course, Dianne Reeves.
