‘Club Night: Alfa Mist’

21 Sept.'24
- 20:30

For one night only, the Centre for Fine Arts will be transformed into a nightclub. Switch from one auditorium to another and curate your own musical experience at Club Night.

"I’ve been focused on who I am in my music but now I’m exploring where I am. I’m asking: how did I get here?” The ‘now’ Alfa Mist speaks of is the release of his fifth album Variables on which lush big band swing is pasted over boom-bap rhythms. The sound is expansive, soulful and moving.

How did he get here? Since the release of his first EP Nocturne in 2015, Alfa Mist has collaborated with Jordan Rakei and Tom Misch, made beats for rapper Loyle Carner, composed neo-classical works for the London Contemporary Orchestra and reworked tracks by Ólafur Arnalds. At the same time, he continued to develop his own sound with the up-tempo record Variables as the latest result. ‘It feels like I'm coming back to my early days of making grime beats and creating tracks that make me want to bop my head fast.’ Well then, let's bop some heads.

This concert is part of Club Night during our Opening Week 24-25. A ticket to Club Night gives you access to all the concerts and shows, but please bear the limited capacity of our auditoria in mind.
