‘Berliner Barock Solisten’

3 Dec.'17
- 19:00

The Berliner Barock Solisten were founded in 1995 at the initiative of violinist Rainer Kussmaul and a number of prominent members of the Berliner Philharmoniker. The group focuses on music from the 17th and 18th century and makes a point of only working with the very best soloists. Things are no different during this concert. Along with Frank-Peter Zimmermann, the Berliner Barock Solisten perform, amongst others, Bach’s two famous violin concertos in this all Bach programme. Fashioned after Vivaldi’s model they are as virtuoso and expressive as examples by the Italian composer. But Bach wouldn’t be Bach if he didn’t give his concerti a more complex and mature style in order to raise them to a higher level.
