‘Anaïs Gaudemard & Taurus Quartet’

Rising Star

When Anaïs Gaudemard’s expressive fingers engage with the sparkling sound of the Taurus Quartet, all the listener has to do is sit back and enjoy this colourful celebration of the strings. The musical season will also be a whirlwind for the young French harpist, who was recently voted an “ECHO Rising Star” and who is preparing for a series of recitals in some of Europe’s most famous concert halls. Accompanied by the Belgian quartet, Gaudemard will perform a scintillating programme, combining the sound of the meandering Moldau, with a fantastic tale by Caplet, Debussy’s dances and a brand-new piece by the young composer Camille Pépin. The Belgian quartet has elected to add a Belgian flourish to the evening’s programme, with a moving composition by Lekeu and Beethoven – who has Flemish roots after all – and his tenth “Harp” quartet with its dazzling pizzicati.
