‘Afropolitan talk: Dream and Action through Video Games and Free Sculpting’

3 Mar.'24
- 18:30

In the framework of Bozar Arcade, join us for a final discussion among Laurent Mbaah and Gabriel Massan as we embark on the playthrough of the video game Third World: The Bottom Dimension. Conceived by Gabriel Massan, a Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist, and produced by Serpentine Arts Technologies, the PC game explores black Brazilian experiences as it intersects with the ramifications of colonialism across physical and digital realities.

Mbaah and Massan explore the theme of 'dream and action' within the context of video games, emphasizing the importance of reclaiming dreams as moments of liberation and resistance to construct new worlds. The conversation will also delve into Gabriel’s digital sculpting process called 'free sculpting'. This approach serves as a form of artistic liberation and offers unique insights into his creative methods.
