For this first part of the season, The 23 presents a selection of films that resonate with current exhibitions such as Love is Louder; Hans/Jean Arp & Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Friends, Lovers, Partners or Rotor. Entangled Matter. These exhibitions have inspired a program highlighting essential names in cinema, offering a special showcase for Belgian cinema, newly released and restored films, as well as lesser-known but crucial cinematic gems.
Bozar still proposes its Close-ups dedicated to renowned filmmakers such as Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Tizza Covi & Rainer Frimmel, Bêka & Lemoine and Sergei Loznitsa. These special events will immerse the audience in their works through film screenings, carte blanche sessions, and remarkable encounters.
A cinema season rich in discoveries
Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul's first virtual reality oeuvre, A Conversation with the Sun, kicked off Bozar's new artistic season to great acclaim.
Bozar also presents a series of new formats: Immersive Cinema, Close-ups, New Voices in Cinema, Art & Film, Premières, Our Burning World, VR Film Screenings and the Family Film Club.
As part of the Love is Louder exhibition and its Pavillon des Amours aka PAV.LOV, Bozar offers in November films about love in all its forms through the program Our Burning World: Love is Louder.
For family cinema enthusiasts, the new Family Film Club, in collaboration with the ANIMA and Fil’emon festivals, offers an eclectic selection ranging from animated films to fiction, emphasizing discovery. Classic and recent films from around the world are to be enjoyed with family or friends, for all generations.
Finally, on December 13, Bozar launches the VR Film Screenings in The 23 with one session per month starting in 2025. During the day and evening, Bozar offers VR film programs to be viewed with immersive headsets.
