‘Yilian Cañizares’

The Nouvel Observateur's "Revelation of the Year 2013" has not finished surprising us. Admired by Chucho Valdés, she shared the stage with great names as Dhafer Youssef, Ibrahim Maalouf, Omar Sosa and Youn Sun Nah, and also signed several albums, the latest of which, Erzulie, brings together such distinguished guests as Christian Scott or the members of the explosive Snarky Puppy Bill Laurance and Michael League. She also collaborated with the latter on her brand-new EP Resilience (2022). Without ever betraying her origins, she blends jazz, classical and Afro-Cuban rhythms with a voice that seems to come from another world, which has made her one of the most interesting violinists, singers and composers on the contemporary scene.
