CONTEXT: 19:00 Meet the Artist: Wu Man & Sanubar Tursun.

Wu Man is the Ravi Shankar of Chinese music. The virtuoso pipa player builds bridges between music and culture like none other. For this concert she joins forces with the Uighur vocalist Sanubar Tursun, one of Central Asia’s most prominent singers and a symbol of the Uighur people. The two musicians go in search of the age-old links between Chinese and Central Asian music.
