Woman
was born of a desire to see the world through a woman’s eyes. This film will take us to all four corners of the world to meet the only people who can tell us: all the women with such vastly different lives, shaped by their culture, their faith and their family history. Woman will first and foremost reflect the state of today’s world. The reflection is often a sombre one, given the injustices to which women are subjected. Above all, though, the film is a message of love and hope to all the women of the world, an attempt to understand their lives and to measure how far they have come and how far they still have to go. So how are we going to get there?

Anastasia Mikova a Ukrainian-born film director and journalist whose work has always focused on social and humanist topics. Among other things, she worked as a journalist for documentaries and she then became editor-in-chief of the series of documentaries Earth from Above, which marked the beginning of her collaboration with Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

Yann Arthus–Bertrand is a French film director and photographer. Appointed ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ by the United Nations Environment Programme for 2009, the same year he directed his first feature film, Home, on the state of our planet. In order to raise awareness of respect for the environment, he created the GoodPlanet Foundation.
