Swapping crisis for city

With which crises does a city like Brussels have to contend? And what exactly goes wrong? There are so many defects that it sometimes is difficult to see the forest for the trees. But what are the alternatives? And which alternatives do the citizens propose? How do they take responsibility for their own city. We-Traders. Swapping Crisis for City is an exhibition that focuses on five local projects which each in their own discipline want to swap the crisis for a constructive urban project. Commons Josaphat, Community Landtrust Brussels, Canal Park, Het Brussels Dichterscollectief and W-o-l-k-e are working to create a Brussels that they wish to share with you.

We-Traders. Swapping Crisis for City is a project of the Goethe-Institut, which, since 2013, has provided a platform for citizens’ initiatives by artists, designers, activists and many other inhabitants of Lisbon, Madrid, Toulouse, Turin and Berlin. In March and April this travelling exhibition will also stop in BOZAR. Brussels initiatives can join the We-Traders network and share their experiences.
