Luther's legacy

Belgian vocal ensemble Vox Luminis is in residence at BOZAR. Having recently worked on projects including English Royal Funeral Music, it now marks 500 years of Martin Luther by exploring the great reformer's musical legacy. Luther understood the huge importance of music, particularly part-singing during liturgy. This would lead to an unprecedented blossoming of music in the Baroque period, in Central and Northern Germany - the crucible of Lutheran thinking. Vox Luminis devoted a double album to this music (Ricercar, 02.2017), for which it won a Choc de Classica, and the ensemble now invites you to discover this rich heritage in concert.
