‘Vivaldi in the land of shadows’

Avi Avital & Venice Baroque Orchestra

With a Grammy Award and a contract with Deutsche Grammophon, Avi Avital has put his instrument, the mandolin, well and truly on the map. His interpretation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons can compete with performances by the greatest violinists. In the company of the inspired musicians of the Venice Baroque Orchestra he brings a new dimension to this violin concerto. The music is alternated with the intriguing Budrugana-Gagra shadow show, in which a cute little bear experiences the cycle of the seasons – or is it the cycle of life? These powerful stories speak to you through music and image, with no need for words.
