Juste wanders the streets of Paris looking for people only he can see. He collects their last memory before helping them into the afterlife. One day Agathe, a young woman, recognizes him. Since 1951, the Jean Vigo Award has been given to directors who have demonstrated independence of spirit and originality. Over the years, it has gone to many talented directors who have made their mark on the history of cinema, including Alain Resnais, Alain Jessua, Claude Chabrol, Jean-Luc Godard, Yves Robert, Robert Enrico, Christian de Chalonge, Maurice Pialat, Olivier Assayas, Pascal Bonitzer, Jean-Charles Tacchella, and Arnaud Desplechin. It was only fair to add Stéphane Batut to this distinguished list.
