Musical stroll through the heart of Brussels

United Music of Brussels is the first milestone in a collaboration between the three Federal cultural institutions. On 10 September 2016, the National Orchestra of Belgium, La Monnaie and BOZAR are joining forces to open their season with a musical journey through the very heart of Brussels. For the occasion, musicians from the two federal orchestras, the choirs of La Monnaie and the MM Academy will come outside to meet the general public. They will be performing a fantastic range of concerts as they go on a journey through the city centre which will celebrate Brussels with music in diverse and surprising venues.

The musicians will perform in different musical formations, ranging from the duo to the quintet, quartet and trio, in unusual venues such as a hotel, a cellar and a private apartment. In total, around fifteen of these atypical venues have been chosen in the centre, not to mention an impressive closing concert at the Halles St Géry.

By leaving the concert hall behind and coming into town, the National Orchestra of Belgium, La Monnaie and BOZAR will be going in search of Brussels residents; taking the music and musicians to around fifteen unusual venues like the Maison de Repos Sainte Monique, where the residents will take part in the event; underground in the Galeries de la Reine to experience a music siesta and in the Taschen bookshop where customers will be treated to a concert in the cellar.
