Film Classics with Filmorchestra The Sprockets
Based on a popular revue from the imperial era, Richard Oswald’s movie tells the story of a provincial insecticide powder manufacturer who follows a vaudeville star he idolizes to Berlin, where he is sucked into a maelstrom of voluntary and involuntary adventures.
Sprockets film orchestra has a particular talent for accompanying silent films. Commissioned by ZDF/Arte, Frido ter Beek has composed and arranged a fitting, atmospheric music to Richard Oswald's silent film Eine tolle Nacht (1927), based on a musical concept by Maud Nelissen, founder of the filmorchestra The Sprockets.
