Opening Millenium Film Festival

The Millenium Festival celebrates its 11th edition with a special selection of films from all over the world and events full of surprises. We invite you to BOZAR for the screening of the heart-touching documentary "Too Beautiful - Our Right to Fight" by director Maceo Frost, whose short films have been acclaimed by NOWNESS, National Geographic, or SXSW. This year, the presentation of the Festival and the speechs will be punctuated by music and the screening will be followed by a drink to offer you a festive evening that honours the Woman, a strong theme of this edition.

Maceo Frost is based in Stockholm. Son of a streetdancer and a skateboarding mother, the underground culture is rooted in his DNA. It is therefore in the streets of Cuba that he takes us to meet Namibia Flores Rodriguez, a woman of exceptional pugnacity, whom life's trials have never diminished. For decades she has been training 5 hours a day, every day, in the hope of winning an Olympic medal in boxing. But in Cuba, women are not allowed to box. Although her home country boasts more gold medals than any other in this discipline, women are not allowed to enter the ring. At 39 years old, a year from the official age limit, Namibia is fighting for her last chance.
