A documentary edited from a three-minute amateur film by David Klutz showing a Jewish town in Poland in 1938 before the tragedy of the Holocaust, the film examines those precious seconds to reveal the hidden stories of the inhabitants. Starting with Glenn Kurtz's journey to learn more about his grandfather's film, the documentary leads to the identification of people and places erased from history and helps connect a Holocaust survivor to his lost childhood. The film is narrated by Helena Bonham Carter and co-produced by Steve McQueen (12 Years A Slave).
Bianca Stigter is a Dutch filmmaker and writer. Her book Atlas of an Occupied City: Amsterdam 1940-1945 was published in 2019.
