‘TaxiWars Special !’

TaxiWars’second album « Fever » exclusive release show. Opening program and closing DJ set by Tom Barman and Robin Verheyen.

TaxiWars, the group headed up by the dEUS frontman Tom Barman and the jazz saxophonist Robin Verheyen, released their debut album in 2015. The tunes can be a bit rough around the edges, with a touch of humour from time to time, but are always catchy and with a twist. The band will soon be bringing out a new album which they will be premiering at BOZAR Even more than in its early days the group is intent on exploring the boundaries of different musical styles. TaxiWars’ music is more or less the embodiment of ‘cross-over’. This concert, however, is a lot more than a CD launch. TaxiWars is also inviting three artists that the group themselves admire. They will be TaxiWars’ support acts. Tape Cuts Tape, that’s the beauty of chaos. You can expect a highly unique mix of impro and noise. Gianluca Petrella is also a master of improvisation. With Exp & Tricks he experiments with the possibilities of sound clouds as a soundtrack to old film classics. And Sylvie Courvoisier is one of the most creative pianists of the New York jazz scene. She combines an impressive technique with her unbridled imagination. Courvoisier and her trio perform compositions, but she is just as good when it comes to improvisation. And then, to make the party complete, Barman and Verheyen take their place behind the turntable for what promises to be a sultry after party.
