‘Talk: Rumba Hispano Belga’

2 Mar.'18
- 19:30

The Catalan rumba dates back to the early 1950s and the Gipsy community who lived in Barcelona's Gràcia and El Raval districts. This unique mix of flamenco song, Cuban rhythms and  rock’n roll very quickly attracted its adherents, to such an extent that, in the 1960s, this musical style also became fashionable amongst the Spanish Community of Belgium, leading to the emergence of a Belgian Flamenco scene. Today, Catalan rumba continues to inspire artists, following the example of our incredible guests: the prodigy of vocals Ximenis, the famous guitarrero Chicuelo and Rumbamazigh with his subtle mix of Berbero-Catalan.
