After crossing the Mediterranean, three men Ouloulou, Kafia and Doucoué, originally from West Africa, are protected remotely by their marabouts. From Mali, Bakary performs the same rituals to reach Europe. Every day, these young people perform their rituals, pray and listen to the marabout's advice via their smartphone. Together, they take us into the world of African spiritualitý in the age of new technologies.
Seydou Cissé is a graduate of the Fresnoy-Studio National des Arts Contemporains and the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers in Bamako. Originally from Mali, his work is largely influenced by the country's traditions and belief systems, but also by the various mutations that animism has undergone in contact with other cultures. After the documentary Faraw ka taama (2013), he directed Taamaden, in a co-production with Belgium, which was shown at several international festivals.
