Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, Budapest

Over the last 83 years, the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition has been held every five years in Budapest, except during the turbulent 1937-1956 period. Five years ago, the 200th anniversary of Franz Liszt was celebrated with a repertoire focused exclusively on the work of the Hungarian composer and pianist. This year, the young Russian pianist Sergey Belyavskiy (°1993) scooped the second prize. During his studies at the Moscow Conservatory, he has been a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. On November 16th, he will make his appearance on the BOZAR stage.
