A record-breaking 75 young talented pianists have signed up for the 7th edition of the Steinway Piano Competition for young people. Of the three categories (up to 13, 16 and 19 years of age) eleven candidates go through to the final on 5 March 2017. There they will give their all in front of an eminent jury chaired by Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden and consisting of a head piano teacher from every conservatory of music in Belgium.
The pianists who reach the final can count on extensive support for their continued musical development. Amongst others, they have the chance of winning cash prizes, valuable stage appearances and an exclusive visit to the world famous piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons in Hamburg. Last but not least, one of the winners will get to represent Belgium at the 2018 Steinway Festival in Hamburg.
All the money raised from ticket sales goes to Make-A-Wish Belgium.
