‘Sote with Tarik Barri’

Ready for the Persian techno apocalypse? Ata ‘Sote’ Ebteka is a composer and sound artist who lives and works in Teheran. For this project he works alongside the famous audio-visual composer Tarik Barri (Monolake, Thom Yorke, Nicolas Jaar) and with Arash Bolouri and Behrouz Pashaei. They are two absolute masters of the santoor and setar, two traditional acoustic instruments. With Sacred Horror in Design Sote is doubly ambitious: he wants to safeguard the beauty of the Persian musical tradition, whilst at the same time transforming it into new structures, which might well become the folklore of the future.
