Händel. Israel in Egypt

The Baroque collective Solomon's Knot has been an unmissable newcomer in the early music world for the past few years. The Observer refers to them as “one of the UK’s most innovative and imaginative ensembles.” Without a score or conductor, but with breathtaking vocal panache, they impress audiences again and again. The words flow effortlessly over their lips as the notes stream freely towards you. It feels as though the singers are speaking to you personally. This makes them the perfect performers for Handel’s dramatic oratorio Israel in Egypt, in which beautiful choral pieces prevail over complex plot twists and endless dialogues between characters. The highlight of 2026 might come early in the year with Solomon’s Knot on the bill.
