The Music Chapel is a laboratory for young musicians taught at the very highest level. Their lives, which are dedicated to music, take shape on Sunday mornings. The dedication and intense way in which these young soloists make music is sure to leave no one unmoved. This time, the violin and piano take centre stage. In his Violin Sonata No. 2, Ravel drew inspiration from brand-new music blown over from the US: jazz and blues. The violin virtuoso Pablo de Sarasate found a point of departure in the richness of Spanish dance music, which he completely made his own. Clara Schumann's Three Romances already elicited superlatives in their time. King George V of Hanover even became completely ecstatic upon hearing the pieces.
