The famous composer and musician Stevo Teodosievski discovered Shadan Sakib when he was still a young Macedonian artist passionate about music and gypsy dances, and a member of the group Phralipe.  Stevo Teodosievski invited him to join the school of music he was running with his partner, the late and much missed Esma Redžepova, "the Macedonian singer and human rights icon, who has died at the age of 73, proudly bore her title of Queen of the Gypsies" (The Guardian). Shadan Sakib went on to join Esma Ansambl Teodosievski, the famous group that achieved cult status and with whom he has been on many international tours, particularly in North America and Mexico. To date the group has given more than 3,000 concerts worldwide.
