Portrait Sergey Khachatryan

The Armenia violinist Sergey Khachatryan won the Queen Elisabeth Competition at the age of twenty. Something of a prodigy to put it mildly, but Khachatryan has always remained modest. His intelligently constructed phrases never fail to respect the spirit of the work he is interpreting. Since his triumph in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2005, Sergey Khachatryan has come to feel quite at home at BOZAR. So it’s high time we celebrate him with a ‘Portrait’! This season, the violinist will be appearing on the stage of the Henry Le Bœuf Great Hall three times, twice with his sister Lusine, a gifted pianist and his preferred chamber music partner. Brother and sister will perform three violin sonatas which are absolute masterpieces of the genre from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
