‘Salon der Verbeelding | Loneliness’

13 Oct.'15
- 19:00

featuring Herman Van Rompuy, Bram Vanderborght, Niña Weijers, Katharina Smets

Het Salon der verbeelding [Salon of the imagination] is a free haven for bold ideas and intimate outpourings. Inspired by the literary and philosophical salons of the 18th and 19th centuries, Saskia De Coster wants to conjure up the atmosphere of those bygone days at the BANG! Festival.

The theme: the taboo that exists when it comes to the issue of loneliness in the big city. Former European president Herman Van Rompuy, author Niña Weijers and Mechanical Engineering Professor Bram Vanderborght (VUB) will each briefly take the platform to discuss loneliness, based on their own their experience and field of discipline, before engaging in dialogue with the members of the audience. Hosted by Katharina Smets.

The number of seats for this small-scale event is limited.

BANG! Imaginative City Festival curated by Saskia De Coster
This event is part of the imaginative city festival BANG! Curated by Saskia De Coster. Due to the construction work currently being undertaken, KultuurKaffee has opted for a nomadic existence and, together with a guest curator, assembles twice a year a multidisciplinary programme of events at various locations dotted around the city of Brussels. Autumn 2015 sees author Saskia De Coster welcoming her festival guests at Bozar.
