Sahar Mohammadi is one of the young generation’s most talented performers of classical Persian song. Born in Teheran, she studied the tar, the setar and song and perfectly embodies the tradition thanks to a powerful voice full of emotion, and a rare art of ornamentation. Her exceptional ability to vary the effects, to fully invest the singing exercises or, on the contrary, to let people forget them until they become nothing more than an imperceptible murmur, serves the greatest Persian poets and contemporary Iranians with the same conviction.
