‘Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden’

- 20:00

Listening to the Staatskapelle Dresden is always a moment of intense musical pleasure brought on by one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. The venerable German orchestra – founded in 1548, making it one of the oldest in the world – is interpreting two masterpieces from the repertoire, the beauty of which is only matched by the talent of the members of this illustrious music group. Dvořák’s Symphony n°8 confirms the melodic genius of the famous Czech composer. There is no doubt that the Staatskapelle’s exceptional brass and strings will do justice to the work. Mahler is also much in evidence as German baritone Matthias Goerne, accompanied by the ensemble, performs the famous Kindertotenlieder, composed by Gustav Mahler, who put several poems by Friedrich Rückert to music, extracts from his collection of the same name.
